Sozo Ministries has a wide range of missionary opportunities, whether you are looking to join a short-term mission team, plan your own church mission trip, undertake a 3-month or 9-month internship, or join our team as a full-time missionary.
Why not bring your own team for a short-term mission trip? We can customize a 10-16 day trip for your church or ministry to give a hands-on missions experience, focused on whatever the Lord lays on your heart to do - evangelism, conference, church ministry, outreach to the poor, etc. Let's chat about it!
Are you looking for a deeper dive into missions than a short-term trip allows? How about interning over the summer or for a school year?
A two-month long summer internship will give you the full experience of life on the mission field, as well as give you the opportunity to grow in your gifts and callings as a minister. The 2024 summer internship would include programs in both Uganda and South Sudan.
Are you a ministry school student looking for a full-year internship program? We would love to explore the possibility of working with your school or institution to develop a plan that would qualify for your specific educational needs while also integrating you into the missions programs of Sozo Ministries in Uganda.
Are you sensing a call to missions full-time, but need more hands-on experience and training before you commit, Sozo Ministries would love to host you for a one-year internship to help you clarify your personal calling, develop your spiritual gifts, identify your passions, and give you opportunities to preach, teach, lead, minister, and more.
Anyone looking to go full-time with Sozo Ministries as a long-term missionary must complete a one-year missionary exploration internship first to build the relationship and help us all discern God's leading in long-term partnership.
About 9 years ago, the international missionary community around Mbale, Uganda organized a homeschool co-op, which runs like a small private school to about 20 children. Each year, we seek qualified teachers who will make a 1-2 year commitment to join our missionary community to teach our children. Since most of the students are from the U.S. and UK, as is the curriculum, we generally desire teachers from those regions, as well.
Requirements: While teaching experience is preferred, U.S. or U.K. licensing credentials are not necessarily required. This is a perfect opportunity for educators who want to serve the Lord or gain international experience for their resume or for senior adults looking to serve the Lord post-career. All applicants will be interviewed by and accountable to the school’s leadership (not Sozo Ministries).
Sozo Ministries is looking for full-time missionaries for each of the nations we work in (and more). If you think that is you, we would love to talk to you about what the Lord is speaking to you and see if Sozo is a fit.
We will take your background, experience, and education into consideration during this process, and most missionary candidates will be required take part in a one-year internship with another Sozo missionary before being considered for their own full-time appointment. This will allow time to build relationships, catch the D.N.A. of Sozo Ministries, and discern the Lord's will for how to move forward together.
