Scott and Liz Ingram were again honored to participate in Youth Ablaze 2024 at Pearl Haven Christian Center. The theme was “Abundant Life” from John 10:10. Over the course of the week, over 600 youth found themselves further understanding and seeking the abundant life that Christ brings!
The Ingrams were pleased to host seven youths from Sozo Ministries in Kenya and ten other Ugandan attendees from various churches at their new home location and ministry base. Visitors were shuttled to and from the church daily, but the team enjoyed breakfast with the Ingrams and home-cooked dinners on a few days. However, Liz was quite thankful that the church was the primary source of breakfast, lunch, and dinner on most days.
This was the first year Liz could fully participate throughout the week, and she was invited to be a small group session speaker. Over the course of 5 days, this entailed speaking to different groups of 200 youth in 7 sessions. Focusing on contentment and comfort in Christ, Liz also engaged in question-and-answer discussions with her groups. These led to many great conversations and one-on-one prayer times.
Scott was invited to be a main session speaker and was asked to speak on the call to missions or “the global perspective of abundant life.” Unfortunately, he also got sick during the week and missed a significant portion of the event.
Youth Ablaze is always amazing, and Abby Good (who is interning with Sozo in Uganda for 4 months) got to experience it firsthand. She was given the opportunity to share a brief part of her testimony during Scott’s session and how she has become involved in missions and did a fantastic job. Many guests were blessed and encouraged by her words. She was also given a BIG surprise while on top of Kakungulu Hill during the annual sermon-on-the-mount when Pastor Okumu called her up, and hundreds of youth sang Happy Birthday.
As always, Youth Ablaze saw many souls trust Christ as Savior and many more being touched by the power of God to transform them into His image.
